Construction timesheet software has to answer a question the office suites never ask: what did this crew's week cost the job? A crew of four on a nine-hour day is 45 hours each, five of them overtime, and the difference between paying that right and paying it wrong is real money on every job and a wage claim on the worst one. The crew's hours, regular and overtime, on separate lines
A construction week is rarely 40 hours, so the sheet takes the regular hours and the overtime hours per person as two figures and multiplies both by the crew. Under the federal FLSA the overtime is hours over 40 in the workweek at not less than time and a half; a prevailing-wage or union job may count daily and pay double time, so the multiplier is yours to set.
Regular labor plus overtime labor is the week's cost
Crew times regular hours times the rate is the regular labor; crew times overtime hours times the rate times the multiplier is the overtime labor; together they are what the week cost the job. The tool shows both, because the overtime line is the one the superintendent asks about and the one the estimate did not allow for.
Loaded cost per crew hour is the number the estimate needs
The week's labor divided by the crew hours is the loaded cost per hour, and it is higher than the rate by exactly the overtime premium. Compare it against the rate the job was estimated at and the gap is the margin the overtime ate. The paid plan keeps every week against the crew so the next estimate starts from real hours.

What should a construction timesheet include?
The job, the date range, each person on the crew, their regular and overtime hours, the rate, the multiplier, the regular and overtime labor, the week's total and the loaded cost per crew hour, with the foreman's sign-off. The tool carries the figures; the paid plan prints them under your company name and files them against the pay period.
Does construction pay overtime daily or weekly?
The federal FLSA rule is weekly, hours over 40 at not less than time and a half. Some states pay overtime after a set number of hours in a day, and a prevailing-wage or union agreement may set daily overtime and double time. The tool takes the overtime hours you decide are owed and the multiplier you set; the rule is your contract's and your state's.
